What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage works in much the same way, but what it holds stays in your browser and is not sent with each request. The Irish ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. No. 336 of 2011) say a site needs your consent before storing anything that is not strictly needed for a service you asked for. Everything this site stores is something you asked for by making a choice.
What this site stores
| Name | Where | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
hon-theme | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose Day, Night or your system setting | Until you clear it |
nx-lang | Local storage | Remembers the language you picked | Until you clear it |
NEXT_LOCALE | First-party cookie | Tells our server which language to send, so the page arrives in your language. Set only when you pick a language. | 12 months |
None of these identify you, and none are shared with anyone. The theme and language values are read only by this site, in your browser.
What we do not use
- No analytics cookies. We count visits in aggregate from our own server logs, which the privacy notice describes.
- No advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies.
- No tracking pixels, social media widgets or third-party tags.
- No cookies on the demo or contact forms. What you type is sent to us when you press the button, and nothing is kept in your browser.
Because nothing optional is stored, this site shows no cookie banner. If that ever changes, we will ask before setting anything and update this page first.
Signing in to HONESTAS
When you sign in to HONESTAS itself, the application sets its own strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your session. They are described in your organisation's agreement with us, and they are never used for tracking.
Removing them
Clear this site's data in your browser settings to remove all three. The site then goes back to following your system theme and choosing a language from your browser settings. Nothing else changes.
